We engage experienced practitioners as project-based collaborators. Engagements are remote-first with occasional client travel. This role is for Southeast municipal classification and compensation consultants who can support active and upcoming South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia pursuits (for example Beaufort SC, Myrtle Beach, Cary NC, and similar city/county employers).
What you'll do:
- Lead or support municipal classification and compensation studies for SE city and county clients
- Conduct job analysis, market pricing, pay-structure design, and stakeholder workshops
- Build comparator peer sets appropriate to Southeast municipalities and school districts
- Produce clear reports, ranges, and implementation recommendations for HR and leadership
- Present findings to boards, councils, and executive sponsors
- Contribute SE municipal class/comp content and past-performance narrative to AlphaGov proposals (when permissioned)
Requirements
- Required:
Hands-on municipal (city/county) classification and/or compensation study delivery
Ability to lead or support job analysis, market pricing, structure design, and client workshops
Comfortable as a 1099 / project-based collaborator with travel as needed for client on-sites
Nice to have:
Prior Southeast municipal or school-district public-sector references
CCP, SPHR, or similar credentials
