Recruiting Manager
Charlotte, NC | On-site | Full time

Build the team. Improve the process. Grow with us.
Southern National Roofing is a top-ranked roofing contractor operating in 9 markets across NC, SC, GA, MD and PA, and we’re growing roughly 40% year over year. We’re hiring a hands-on Recruiting Manager to run sales recruiting for all 9 markets and build the hiring infrastructure for our next stage of growth. You’ll report directly to the CEO.
This is a player-coach role. You’ll lead our recruiting team, which is currently one recruiter, with plans to grow. You’ll also personally run the applicant funnel, sourcing, screening and interviewing candidates every week. If you’re looking for a desk-only management job, this isn’t it.
What you’ll do
- Own the applicant funnel for Sales Consultants, Sales Managers and Department Managers across all 9 markets, from job posting to offer.
- Personally source, screen and interview candidates every week.
- Lead, coach and develop the recruiting team as it grows, including future Recruiting Team Leads.
- Improve sourcing, job postings, screening, interviewing and candidate selection.
- Build recruiting metrics, reporting, goals and accountability.
- Improve quality of hire and retention, measured by who is still producing at 30 and 90 days.
- Partner with the CEO before implementing material changes.
First priority: Sales Consultants
We need to add 10-15 Sales Consultants in the next 60 days and keep more of the people we hire. We don’t expect a study period. You’ll learn the business and recruit at the same time. You’ll find what isn’t working, talk it through with leadership, and move fast.
Learn the business by doing
You recruit better when you understand the job. In your first few months you’ll spend time across the business. That means sitting with managers, riding along with sales reps and, where it makes sense, doing parts of the job yourself. We’re a hands-on company, so when someone is out or volume spikes, our managers step in.
Build our hiring infrastructure
You’ll work with leadership, with support from HR and legal resources, to build and improve our hiring tools:
- interview guides, candidate scorecards and job descriptions
- hiring packets and onboarding
- recruiting SOPs and hiring manager guidelines
- contributions to the employee handbook
HR experience helps but isn’t required.

· Experience with high-volume recruiting and management-level searches.

· Good judgment: knows when to act independently and when a quick leadership conversation is appropriate.
· A builder who wants to improve processes, develop people, and grow with the company.
· Home services, roofing, remodeling, solar, HVAC, pest control, or similar experience is a plus.
· HR generalist or HR operations experience is a plus.
